With regards to eyewear, the most important elements are the lenses. This is why SCICON chose NXT material lenses (trademark of Essilor® Italia) for all performance models.
In the past there was the option of fragile sunglass lenses with excellent optical properties or tough lenses with poor optical properties. NXT® was formulated in the early 1990’s for the windshields of new generation USA attack Apache helicopters. The new material needed to be bulletproof, lightweight and optically superior, along with its high Abbe value.
NXT® as a material provides excellent quality and is unbreakable. It combines the optical clarity of mineral lenses and the lightweight, impact resistance of organic lenses.
