At Club Rainbow, we encourage our children to express themselves and their talents in a variety of ways. One of these avenues is through art. Many volunteers have selflessly given their time and expertise to guide the children in producing paintings that we are all proud of. Here is just a small sampling of their works that will be auctioned to the higgest bidder. All proceeds will go to Club Rainbow in aid of Children suffering from cronic illnesses

Established in 1992, Club Rainbow (Singapore) is a registered charity committed to helping children suffering from a range of chronic and life-threatening illnesses.The charity currently supports more than 430 children and their families.They provide a range of free services including counselling and emotional healing, home and hospital bedside tuition, bonding through social activities, providing quality information for parents and children through regular talks and workshops and offering financial help to those families in need.

Singapore Women's Cycling Team, together with Togoparts.com, have collaborated to organise an auction for oil paintings created by the children of Club Rainbow. Supervising the oil painting workshop was Jyune, our Chief Artist. Now, we are auctioning off these wonderful unframed oil-on-canvas paintings. Be a part of this event and bid to win one of these paintings!

In a bid to raise even more funds for Club Rainbow, Jyune will put up one of the paintings up for auction. This framed painting of a sunflower and 2 songbirds at sunset is a definitely a conversation starter. Also up for auction is a 2D/1N stay in Chempaka Villa at Bintan Lagoon Resort. Generously sponsored by BLR Management Pte Ltd, this voucher is worth $720.

All of the proceeds from this auction will go to Club Rainbow and contributions are double tax exempted.

  • The duration of the Online Auction is from the 10th Dec 2006 to 2359hr 9th January 2007
  • The minimum bid increment is SGD$20.
  • After the Auction is closed, the winning bidder will be contacted by the details in his profile. If not contactable within three days, the next highest bidder will be contacted.
  • Payment for the paintings and voucher must be received by 20th January 2007
  • Payment terms are by cash or cheque addressed to "Club Rainbow (Singapore)"
  • Presentation of the paintings will be at the Rainbow Family Care Centre on the evening of 28th January 2007

    GIRL IN THE MIRROR::    Painted by a 14-year-old girl who suffers from Central Hypotonia Developmental Delay. Affecting usually the Central Nervous System, this condition generally causes a delay in a child’s physical, cognitive, behavioural, emotional, or social development. This enchanting piece is a self-portrait.

    FLORAL EXPRESS::    Painted by a 10-year-old girl who suffers from Thalassaemia Major – a genetic blood disorder in which children require frequent blood transfusions. This painting is centered on a giant flower with nature influences in the background.  

     

     

    THE PIRATE::    This fantasy painting was done by a six-year-old girl who suffers from Osteogenic Imperfecta commonly known as the "brittle bone" disorder -- a genetic disorder characterised by bones that break easily, often from little or no apparent cause. The painting depicts a pirate on his ship heading into a storm. A little blue bird shrouded in mist rests on a mountain peak as it is lost. This is the artist’s very first oil painting.

    IMAGINATION::    This colourful abstract piece was painted by an 11-year-old girl.She suffers from Central Hypotonia Developmental Delay. Affecting usually the Central Nervous System, this condition generally causes a delay in a child’s physical, cognitive, behavioural, emotional, or social development.

    THE EMERALD HILLS::    This scenic view of forested hills was done by an eight year old boy who suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome – a disorder of the kidneys. The artist loves to draw and has won a number of competitions including Club Rainbow’s Talent Development Fund awards.

    FREEDOM::    This surreal work depicting a sunrise at sea was done by an 18-year-old youth who is wheelchair-bound and suffers from chronic renal failure.  

     

     

     

    DELICATE BLOOMS::    Painted by a seven-year-old girl who suffers from Thalassaemia Major. She loves flowers and was thrilled to learn the skills of painting these delicate blooms. And just like flowers, children too bloom vibrantly with tender love and care!

    MORNING BUTTERFLIES::    Painted by an eight-year-old girl who suffers from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) which is a chronic autoimmune disease. Morning Butterflies depicts the innocence of a brand new day and also the inherent purity of childhood.

     

    JUST PEOPLE::    An abstract composition, this was done by a 10-year-old boy, the brother of a Rainbow Child. The painting represents the uniqueness of human form.

    REFLECTION OF BOXES::    Painted by an 11-year-old boy who suffers from Thalassaemia Major – a genetic blood disorder.The squares represent people. Like these squares, each person is different and should be appreciated as a unique individual despite his or her different looks and health problems.
